Water Leaking into Kitchen from 2nd Floor?
I have water leaking into my kitchen around a light fixture. I have checked all the connections from the 2nd floor where I have 2 adjoining bathrooms. Nothing appears to be leaking. There is another multifloor unit above mine. I have asked them to check their connections as well.
The water has a yellowish color to it. I think it could be rust related. I don't see any stains in the ceiling. I'm puzzled and don't even know who I should be calling for this. I have shut the power in the kitchen for now.
Can anyone give me some guidance on what my next steps should be?

A couple of things, First fill the tubs up with water useing the tub fill only ( dont use the shower head) and let the empty at the same time. If the ceiling is leaking it is most likely your drain lines for the tub.
If the ceiling is not leaking remove all the caulking and recaulk the tubs.
If this does not stop it after you take a shower, call a plumber or maintence
put down plastic, open ceiling w/hammer and locate leak. Thats step 1, step 2 is up to you
You should call a plumber. The leak could be coming from many, many places. My sister had this problem in her house once, bathroom right above the kitchen. The water was actually coming through the siding, through the sheathing, and by a manner of surface tension was travelling all the way from a back-up, improperly sealed gutter to come out in her kitchen light fixture. The water could be coming from just about anywhere, and professionals will be able to find it faster because they know “the usual suspects”.
